Good way to end 2017 by climbing Groot Wellington from the MCSA property on the Slanghoek Saddle. Beautiful range of flowers in bloom.

Assegaaiboskloof Trail

Bivouac trip up to Berg Valley to hike up to the Jonkershoek Watershed. Tough day 19km with about 1,700m of total ascent. Last part of trail up to the pass very tough going as the path was overgrown, and prickly! However, an ambition achieved and a very satisfying day.

Botmaskop Ridge

Hike from Jonkershoek entrance up to a saddle in the range which ends in Helshoogt Pass, this is part of the Hottentots-Holland mountain catchment area. Took a fairly indistinct path along the ridge towards Botmaskop peak. Stopped at the high point on the ridge due to time constraints but you could walk the full length. You can also make it an A to B hike with 2 cars

Middagberg (M&J camping trip)
