Bivouac trip up to Berg Valley to hike up to the Jonkershoek Watershed. Tough day 19km with about 1,700m of total ascent. Last part of trail up to the pass very tough going as the path was overgrown, and prickly! However, an ambition achieved and a very satisfying day.

Good hike to do with friends and family of all ages as there are a couple of places to enjoy the rivers and good views of the mountains.

Numerous hiking trails on old (disused) forestry tracks and hiking trails. Now the pine forests are gone these tracks provide excellent access into a beautiful area and a broad range of hiking.

A hike of contrasts, swimming holes in the river, indigenous trees, fantastic views up to Jonkershoek. Not particularly hard and no steep ascents, but reasonably long.
